Bolton Landing, NY
"In September of 2015 an elite gathering of race boats will take to the waters of Lake George in a nostalgic tribute to a bygone era in powerboating's classic past. For the first time in over 80 years the shoreline in Bolton Landing will echo the roar of the exhausts from a fleet of Gold Cup replicas and vintage race boats." - LakeGeorgeGoldCup.com

The morning after sleeping in our new bedroom for the first time. Looking forward to the next 40+ years waking up in this (left) spot.
Before the sugaring season ends and the taps run dry, a few interior shots of the Sugar Shack.
Just a few thousand feet up the road our neighbor Sam is building a new sugar shack for his ever-growing maple syrup business. Earlier this week I drove my tractor up the road to help him lift the last timber frame bent.
With sugaring season right around the corner, the pressure is on to finish. The evaporator could potentially be up and running as soon as mid February if the Red Maples decide to run early. Maybe the front wall will be missing and some of the sections of metal roofing will still be on the ground, but the chimney will be through the finished roof and the sap will be in a roiling boil.
Projects like this are my favorite…i.e. when they’re not mine. All the glory and none of the responsibility. Perfect.
I’ll keep everyone posted with new photos soon. Until then, here are some photos of the old Sugar Shack.
